A junior high school teacher arrested and prosecuted He was charged with displaying content harmful to minors after several students told police they had seen inappropriate images and videos on his laptop.
According to an arrest affidavit from the Crane Police Department in Texas, police responded to the Crane Police Department at approximately 3:27 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, after receiving a report that children had viewed “nude photos and videos” on a teacher's computer. The junior high school was notified. .
“This situation arose after students encountered inappropriate images on their teacher's computer during class time.”
As a result of the investigation, the suspect, Lindell Ray Lee (68), a 6th grade social studies teacher, was arrested.
According to police, students who witnessed the incident said that Lee was “looking at photos and videos of naked women on his computer.'' [sic]They say, “The 20’s. [photos] “Nude women leaning against walls,” and Lee would “hit play on pause when we were in that area.”
An arrest warrant was issued on November 26, and Mr. Lee was arrested on December 2 and booked into the Crane County Jail.
Crane Independent School District released a statement on Facebook confirming that Lee has resigned from the school.
The Crane Independent School District is deeply concerned by the recent arrest of a teacher for exhibiting items harmful to minors, a Class A misdemeanor. The incident occurred after the student encountered an inappropriate image on the teacher's computer during class time.
The school district announced that teachers will undergo additional training to make it clear that they are not allowed to view photos or videos of naked women during class.
