Migrant Accused of Killing Georgia Mother, Injuring Her Daughter in Hit-and-Run

The immigrants have been accused of killing Gwinnett County in Georgia, and are injuring her in a crash that hit her.

Anibal Orlando de Leon, a 33-year-old immigrant currently facing deportation, has been arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and charged with felony hit and run, driving without a license and using a fake license plate.

Sheriff’s deputies said Orlando de Leon was driving the Toyota Echo on April 21 when he allegedly caused a multi-car crash that led to the death of Tamela Brown, who was in the car with his injured teenage daughter.

“By the time I got there, she was already dead and her daughter was lying there, but she lived,” said Brown’s friend Tracey Wiley I said WSB-TV 2 Atlanta. Wiley described Brown as “a lovely person, always laughing, talking, always having fun.”

After his arrest, Orlando de Leon allegedly admitted to sheriff’s deputies that he switched license plates to his vehicle to avoid being arrested in a hit-and-run collision.

He will remain in custody of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed detainees in Orlando de Leon in search of his custody.
