Rep. Jesus “Chui” Garcia dismissed violent crimes committed by illegal immigrants in the House Judiciary Subcommittee last week as “immigrants committing several crimes.”
“Republicans unraveled the tragedy involving immigrants committing several crimes,” Garcia said. “This is an exception, not a rule. I live in an immigrant district in Chicago. I know what it’s like.”
Illinois Democrats minimize the violent acts committed by illegal immigrants as “several crimes.”
Garcia’s comments sparked a strong responsibility from Chicago’s Vice President, Flips Red, Daniel Carter Walters.
“It’s weird that Garcia is from Chicago. He can’t tell us what’s going on in our community. If he comes to our community, he’ll see all the gang doodles, Tren de Lagua’s signatures, MS-13,” Carter Walters testified. “He’ll see all the needles in the park across the street where they have shelter.”
