An immigrant living in Miami, Florida, is accused of possessing hundreds of photos and videos of child sexual abuse, according to Miami Police.
Francisco Ramon Cruz Rodriguez, 51, was arrested. Charged After a forensic examination of a USB drive found in his Miami home, he was arrested on charges of possession of child pornography and promotion of child pornography.
Police said they found approximately 500 photos and videos depicting child sexual abuse in Rodriguez’s home on July 24. Forensic tests also uncovered Google screenshots that allegedly showed Rodriguez video chatting with a prepubescent girl.
Similarly, forensic examination uncovered a photograph of a girl said to be around seven years old.
“What was shocking about this case was that these images were never seen in any of the databanks that our detectives had ever looked at,” Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales said.
Rodriguez remains incarcerated at Turner-Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detention order against him, requesting that he be held if released at any time.
