Mike Breen conveys Lisa Salters' message during her absence from the NBA Finals

On Sunday, Mike Breen expressed a touching message for his colleague at ESPN, Lisa Salters, who is facing health challenges.

During a game commentary, Breen acknowledged Salters, especially after Jorge Sedano made his appearance on the sidelines. He shared, “Jorge is here with us, and we’re sending our best wishes to our dear friend, Lisa. She’s been dealing with some tough health issues for a while. We might not know her mother personally, but we’re so thankful for her bringing us Lisa.”

Before the tipoff, Salters, age 59, revealed that she had to miss Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City because of personal matters. Meanwhile, Fever head coach Stephanie White also missed Indiana’s recent game due to a “family emergency.” This situation was reported by local news.

Assistant coach Austin Kelly stepped in and managed to lead the Fever to a significant 79-52 win against the Sky. Bonner mentioned her desire to support White during her family struggles, saying, “We want to pull together for her. It’s a tough situation, especially since it’s Austin’s first time coaching.”

Looking ahead, the Fever are set to play against Atlanta’s Dream on Tuesday, while Games 3 and 4 of the NBA Finals will take place in Indiana starting Wednesday. Salters, who also serves as a sideline correspondent for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, previously covered the Pacers’ thrilling 111-110 victory in Game 1.

The Thunder bounced back in Game 2 with a 123-107 win, leveling the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
