Mike Evans pays tribute to Steph Curry ahead of Monday Night Football matchup with the Commanders

Mike Evans appears to be settling into the Bay Area quite nicely.

Before the Week 6 Monday Night Football game against the San Francisco 49ers, he was spotted honoring Warriors’ legend Stephen Curry.

Evans made an entrance on the red carpet at Levi’s Stadium, donning a black Warriors jersey featuring Curry’s iconic No. 30.

Currently, Evans is in his first season with the 49ers, following a dozen years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As the game approached, he had already established himself as a key player for the 49ers, leading the team with 24 catches for 326 yards and three touchdowns.

During the game, he recorded two receptions for 78 yards, including a significant 54-yard catch that brought the 49ers close to the endzone with less than nine minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The 49ers capitalized on Evans’ play and scored shortly after when Christian McCaffrey charged into the endzone on a 1-yard run, extending the score to 13-3.

Interestingly, prior to the matchup, Evans was questionable due to a rib and Achilles injury that kept him from practicing all week.

Meanwhile, the six-time Pro Bowler is finding his footing in San Francisco while Curry prepares for his 18th season in the NBA.

Earlier in the day, the Warriors dodged a potential scare when head coach Steve Kerr announced that Curry had left a Sunday practice early with a sprained ankle.

Kerr later confirmed that Curry would be available for the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.
