U.S. Ambassador to Israel Criticizes Macklemore

On Thursday, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee spoke out against Macklemore, accusing him of promoting antisemitism. Huckabee expressed his support for NFL owners who are attempting to cancel Macklemore’s performances.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Huckabee reflected on his experiences in Israel, indicating that many criticisms directed at the country are, in his view, misplaced and unfounded.

He lamented, “It’s truly unfortunate that Macklemore has chosen to be a voice for Jew hatred. I don’t quite get why entertainers like him think it’s entertaining to adopt a pro-Hamas stance. This is a position that backs those who have committed heinous acts, like raping, beheading babies, and burning elderly people in wheelchairs. Hamas crossed the border from Gaza and barbarically killed 1,200 people, taking 251 hostages, many of whom are Americans.”

Huckabee continued, emphasizing the importance of free speech but also the notion that it comes with responsibilities. “There is a backlash against this kind of behavior, and why shouldn’t there be? Yes, you have the right to free speech, but it doesn’t come without consequences. The management of these stadiums and the promoters of concerts aren’t endorsing pro-Hamas rallies,” he noted.

He also addressed the alarming rise of antisemitism in Canada and echoed calls for the Trump administration to tackle the issue. Huckabee mentioned that a letter from the National Association of Christian Lawmakers was sent to Trump earlier in the month, requesting easier visa access for Jewish Canadians seeking to enter the U.S.

“Honestly, many Jewish Canadians are scared for their lives,” Huckabee remarked. “They worry about becoming the targets of violent or terror attacks. The harsh rhetoric in Canada has become very concerning.” He recalled that Trump had acknowledged the letter from the NACL and expressed a willingness to look into the situation.

As for the conflict with Iran and specifically the Houthi offensive in Yemen, Huckabee shared that Israel has indicated a desire to build better relations with its neighboring countries in the Middle East. He suggested that Israel might be open to assisting Saudi forces but emphasized that decisions related to this would need to come from the Saudis or the Israelis themselves.

In Huckabee’s view, “Israel isn’t at fault here. They’re not trying to take anyone else’s land.”
