Mike Rogers Leads Trump Impeacher Peter Meijer

Former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), who appears to have the support of the Trump community, has a double-digit lead over his opponent in Michigan’s Republican Senate primary, according to two polls.

Marketing Research Group (MRG) poll published Monday’s results showed Rodgers with a 23% approval rating, leading Rep. Peter Meyer (R-Mich.), who voted in favor of impeaching former President Donald Trump. Meyer received 7% of responses, followed by businessman Sandy Pensler with 2%. Another 62% of likely Republican primary voters are undecided.

“Most of Mr. Rogers’ support has come from Southeast and Mid-Michigan, where he has hosted well-wishers promoting his experience as a military veteran and former law enforcement officer,” MRG owner Jenelle Leonard said in a statement. “TV ads have been running for weeks.”

“External efforts to brand Mr. Rogers as a candidate with the knowledge and experience to secure the border and bridge the political divide in Washington, D.C., are resonating with voters,” she added.

The poll selected 600 likely top voters in the February 19-22 primary election, and did not specify the margin of error.

in another vote carried out Rodgers has an even bigger lead, according to a poll conducted by pollster Michael Myers of a pro-Rogers super PAC, first reported by Fox 2. Among respondents, 32% supported Rogers, 12% supported Meyer, and Pensler rose to 4%. In this opinion poll, the percentage of undecided voters was 52%.

However, Fox 2 did not reveal the name of the super PAC that sponsored the poll, nor the survey’s sample size, date or margin of error. A source told Breitbart News that the PAC is the Great Lakes Conservative Fund.

Meyers said Rogers has the highest name recognition of the three candidates, with 63% of respondents saying they know of him, compared to 56% each for Meyer and Pensler. It is said to be 34%.

“Among them, 29% [Rogers]23% have no real opinion of him and 10% have an unfavorable opinion,” Myers told Fox 2.

Remarkably, although Mr. Trump’s support is very influential among the Republican base, Mr. Rogers has not endorsed any candidate in Michigan. They seem to be coming together. Rick Grenell, a former acting director of national intelligence who also served as U.S. ambassador to Germany in the Trump administration, also endorsed him on Monday.

“I am proud to support my friend Mike Rogers for the U.S. Senate. Michigan desperately needs a senator who will put the American people first, and I am honored that Mike will serve as that senator. ,” Grenell said in a statement.

In response, Mr. Rogers expressed his gratitude to Mr. Grenell.

“I appreciate your friendship and am honored to have your support as we continue to come together to get America back on track,” he wrote.
