Mike Tyson shares strange comment about Shohei Ohtani at the ESPYs

Shohei Ohtani, the standout player for the Dodgers, clinched the 2026 ESPY Award for Best Single Game Performance.

The announcement came from Mike Tyson, Jake Paul, and DJ Khaled. After revealing the winners, Paul mentioned that Ohtani was not there to accept the award in person.

As the trio exited the stage, Tyson posed a puzzling question: “Is Shohei a man?”

This remark wasn’t directly into the microphone, but it was caught on video and went viral on social media shortly afterward.

Ohtani earned the ESPY for his phenomenal showing against the Brewers in Game 4 of the 2025 National League Championship Series. His prowess was undeniable as he hit three home runs and struck out ten batters over six scoreless innings.

Even with Tyson’s confusion, there’s no doubt about Ohtani’s status in Major League Baseball.

This week, Ohtani missed the All-Star Game due to a knee injury and couldn’t make his scheduled start just before the event.

However, he is anticipated to return when the Dodgers face the Yankees this Friday. Manager Dave Roberts noted that Ohtani had fluid drained from his knee to alleviate discomfort and plans to rejoin the team for the latter part of the season.

The Dodgers are on track for their third straight World Series title, currently holding the best record in MLB with 61 wins against 36 losses. Ohtani is poised to lead Los Angeles in their championship pursuit.

I really hope Tyson knows who Ohtani is.
