Mike Tyson to face Floyd Mayweather in surprising boxing matchup

Tyson and Mayweather Set for Exhibition Match

Two of boxing’s heavyweights are set to face off in the ring. Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather have both signed a deal for an exhibition match, as announced by CSI Sports/Fight Sports on Thursday.

This anticipated match is scheduled for the spring of 2026, but specifics regarding the date and location are still being finalized.

Mayweather previously fought Conor McGregor in a professional match back in August 2017.

Tyson expressed surprise at the opportunity. “When CSI came to me about stepping into the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, ‘This won’t happen,’ but Floyd said yes,” he stated. “I never expected this fight to materialize. However, boxing seems to have entered this unpredictable phase, and this fight is a prime example of that.”

He added, “I can’t believe Floyd really wants to do this. It might not be great for his health, but he’s committed, and now it’s happening!”

Mayweather, on the other hand, appeared unfazed. “I’ve been in the sport for 30 years; no single fight can tarnish my legacy,” he remarked. “I know that anything I do will be significant and legendary. This exhibition will give fans exactly what they desire.”

There’s no risk to Mayweather’s perfect 50-0 record, as this match is purely an exhibition. With Tyson nearing 60 years old, he’ll be turning 59 in June; the age factor certainly adds an interesting element to the upcoming bout.
