Military Costs Exceed $21 Million for Deportation Flights This Year

During President Donald Trump’s second term, the US military reportedly spent over $21 million on flights for deporting immigrants, as revealed in figures released on Monday.

From January 20 to April 8, Transcom operated 46 flights using military aircraft to aid in immigration deportations, which was shared with Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Transcom stated that these flights accounted for 802.5 hours of flight time, costing about $26,277 per flight, culminating in the total expenditure of more than $21 million.

Warren, who serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, expressed that “All Americans should be furious by Donald Trump, who wasted military resources for his political agendas that do not enhance our safety.”

A Democratic member also noted, “US service members did not enlist for this misuse of power.”

The Trump administration had promoted what it described as a significant initiative to reduce illegal immigration, involving migrant confrontations, arrests, and deportations.

Additionally, Trump deployed thousands of extra forces along the US-Mexico border, granting them authority to detain immigrants in specified areas.
