‘Minecraft Movie’ star Jennifer Coolidge says ‘White Lotus’ changed her love life

Jennifer Coolidge reflects her epic role in “The White Lotus.”

During an interview with Sunday Timesthe 63-year-old actress who portrayed Tanya McCoid in the first two seasons of the popular Max series revealed how her “fairy” role influenced her date life off-screen life.

“Even though I'm playing a total weirdo in 'White Lotus,' a cute guy comes to me,” Coolidge told the outlet. “This is much better than the 'American Pie'. Because people are really sad that Tanya falls off the boat. These men like you because they feel you've gone through something.

Coolidge's character was killed in the season 2 finale. While Death is still stabbed, she says she can finally move on.

“You have to be a good sport about it, but I went, 'Oh, really? Really?' I cried and let it go,” she said.

Looking back at her career, Coolidge, whose other notable roles include Stiffler's mother from “American Pie” and Paulette Bonafonte, “legally blonde” Paulette Bonafonte, said she was often typecasting due to her lack of knowledge about “how to play games” in Hollywood.

“I got a very strange job. There was no guidance at all,” she said. “I didn't know how to play the game. I played a lot of very awful rich women. People said, 'Yeah, that's exactly what she does.'

“I've sabotaged myself, and I'll say this to any young man. Have it to maintain courage when the waves come,” she added. “I was a sure bet. I've been doing so many good jobs. I'm very regretful. I've been deeply depressed for a very long time.”
