Tragic Loss of Young Woman in Minnesota
Former Republican gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota, Jeff Johnson, shared that his family is “heartbroken beyond words” following the death of his 22-year-old daughter, who was fatally stabbed in what appears to be an attempted murder-suicide.
Harry Marie Tobler is remembered by her grieving parents as a loving and promising young woman. She was found dead Saturday night in a locked apartment in St. Cloud, with multiple stab wounds.
Tobler’s 23-year-old husband, Dylan, was also discovered at the scene, suffering from serious self-inflicted stab wounds. He has since been taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder, linked to the fatal incident.
In a statement released Thursday, her devastated family expressed their profound sorrow, saying, “We are heartbroken beyond words to express the tragic and senseless loss of our beloved daughter Harry Marie.” They emphasized that, “Harry was a bright light in our lives and the lives of so many others. She was kind, caring, and full of promise. The pain of losing her in this way is something no family should ever have to endure.” The family is still grappling with the harsh reality of her loss.
They extended gratitude to supporters, friends, and family for their outpouring of love. Additionally, they praised law enforcement for their ongoing work in the investigation and highlighted the significance of mental health support, urging anyone in need to seek professional help.
The family stated, “Our focus now is to honor Harry’s memory and support all those whose lives she touched during this devastating loss.” They requested everyone to remember their daughter for the beautiful person she was, thanking them for their understanding and compassion.
This shocking incident follows a troubling history; just seven months ago, Johnson’s son-in-law was arrested on suspicion of strangling Tobler while she was experiencing a delusional episode, according to court documents.
Dylan, described as having a “history of aggressive behavior,” was found guilty in January of disorderly conduct and fined $150.
Jeff Johnson, who previously served on the St. Cloud City Council, was running for the Republican nomination for governor but chose to suspend his campaign after this tragedy.
