The last person she met before disappearing from University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Conanki, who had disappeared, was seized by Dominican Republic authorities, according to a new report.
Caribbean officials confiscated Josh Aribe's travel documents nearly 10 days after Conanki was last seen on the beach near the Riu Hotel & Resort on March 6th.
The Iowa native says he is working with authorities as he continues to search for the 20-year-old Indian citizen.
“I'm just trying to help them.” He told NBC News. “The ocean is a dangerous place.”
Riibe's lawyers have admitted that his passport has been confiscated. St. Cloud State University students are “forever” paired with police escorts and are forced to stay at the hotel during investigation.
Libe is believed to be the last person to see Conanki before she goes missing, and the two say they went into the water during their overnight escape, including hugging and kissing before they encounter the wild sea.
“So he can't leave freely,” Libe's lawyer told the outlet.
Libe was being held by police under “irregular circumstances,” claimed his parents, Albert and Tina.
Libe was questioned by the country's Attorney General's Office and shared details of the overnight adventure shared on the beach around 4am on March 6th
Surveillance footage filmed two walking arm-in arms with friends as the group headed to the beach.
The friends returned to the hotel and remained there until about 5:50am, leaving behind Libe and Conanki.

The newly formed duo went out into the deep-look waters before being swept away by the ocean with huge waves.
The two struggled to resurface as Libe grabbed Conanki and brought her closer to the shore, claiming that she had swallowed the seawater at that moment.
“I was a lifesaver. I grabbed her and pulled her out,” he told authorities according to the transcript of the interview obtained by. Noticus sin of the Dominican Republic.
After returning to deep knee water, Libe says she proceeded towards the beach she threw for the salt water she ingested.
Libe claimed that his last memory of Conanki was walking diagonally over the water to the place where she left her belongings before she entered the water.
“The last time I saw her, I asked her if she was okay,” he said. “I didn't hear her answer as I started vomiting all the seawater I swallowed.
Libe died on the beach before awake hours later and returning to her room.
Conanki was reported missing by a friend who traveled with her around 4pm
Authorities later discovered clothing believed to belong to Conanki around the resort's set of beach chairs.
A salon with a white net draped over a beach chair and a beige flip-flop covered in sand next to the sunrounger legs were discovered during the investigation. According to photos obtained by CDN.
The beachwear, which remarkably resembles the Virginia-born clothing, was last worn in surveillance footage taken the night she disappeared, but showed no signs of tampering, authorities told the outlet.
Police have not filed a complaint on the case.
