Missing woman discovered alive having ’emerged’ from downtown Nashville riverbank: police

A woman visiting Nashville from New Jersey was found alive after “emerging” from the riverbank, police said.

After an extensive search by the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department (NMPD) and the Nashville Fire Department into Thursday morning, 33-year-old Alexandria Chmiel was found.

“BREAKING: Ali Chmiel emerges from the riverbank and… [investigative] “Team,” the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department wrote to X.

Riley Strain was not “visibly intoxicated” when he had drinks at a Nashville celebrity bar, according to a report.

“Thank goodness! She’s the lucky one,” one X commenter wrote.

Chmiel went missing in the early hours of July 25 while visiting Music City from New Jersey with friends.

“Officers are searching the riverfront area of ​​1st Avenue and Woodland Street in search of suspect Alexandria Chmiel, 33, who is visiting from New Jersey,” NMPD said in a previous X post.

“She became separated from her friend on 3rd Avenue and Broadway just before 2 a.m. and was reported missing at 3:42 a.m. She was last seen on camera downtown at 1st Avenue and Woodland Street,” the post continued.

The Nashville Fire Department launched a search using drones and ropes in an attempt to find Schmail.

Following Schmail’s discovery, the NFD posted on X, “Great news!! Missing person has been located! NFD personnel are on scene assessing her condition and preparing her for transport to hospital.”

“Detectives were on scene and spoke with her. There was no criminal activity. She was not seriously injured and was transported to the hospital for evaluation. This was just a precautionary measure,” a Nashville Police Department spokesperson said in a phone interview with Fox News Digital.

Earlier this year, Missouri college student Riley Strain went missing and was found dead in Nashville after a night out with frat boys in the same area.
