An Alabama woman has been found shot and burned after disappearing while picking up a Facebook Marketplace purchase.
Birmingham police are investigating the discovery of a burnt body on Thursday, and officers who arrived said the body also had “visible signs of trauma”. NBCDFW reported that she was pronounced dead at the scene and that she was later found shot.
“I looked out my bedroom window and saw a big flame,” resident Herbert Brown told WVTM. “I looked over the fence and saw the corpses on fire.

“Firefighters came and put out the fire, and police were on the scene until 2 or 3 a.m., searching the scene,” Brown added.
The woman was eventually identified as Jermiera Ivory Fowler, 31, but had been missing since May 31 when she went to pick up a Facebook Marketplace purchase.
Police have not made any arrests, but are still investigating potential motives, according to the report.
