MLB free agency: Which players from the Dodgers, Padres, and Giants are now available?

The MLB offseason has kicked off with the Brewers taking the crown as World Series champions.

The Dodgers, who fell just short of the title against Milwaukee, faced some significant changes as several players entered free agency early Thursday.

Dodgers Free Agents

This offseason, nine players from the Dodgers are now available on the open market:

  1. Tarik Skubal (starting pitcher)
  2. Alex Vesia (relief pitcher)
  3. Kris Bubic (starting pitcher)
  4. Eric Lauer (starting pitcher)
  5. Kiké Hernandez (utilityman)
  6. Evan Phillips (relief pitcher)
  7. Blake Treinen (relief pitcher)
  8. Brusdar Graterol (relief pitcher)
  9. Miguel Rojas (infielder)

Speaking of Rojas, he has actually announced his retirement since the Dodgers’ exit from the National League Championship Series, so he’s a free agent in name only.

Padres Free Agents

Over in San Diego, the Padres, who also tangled with the Brewers during their playoff run, saw nine players depart via free agency as well.

  1. Adrian Morejon (relief pitcher)
  2. Ty France (first baseman)
  3. Casey Mize (starting pitcher)
  4. Robbie Ray (starting pitcher)
  5. Jason Adam (relief pitcher)
  6. Walker Buehler (starting pitcher)
  7. Ramon Laureano (outfielder)
  8. Luis Rengifo (utilityman)
  9. Austin Hays (outfielder)

Additionally, the Padres have several players with options to consider this winter. Notably, Michael King opted out of his $28 million option for 2027, likely searching for a more stable long-term contract.

They also have relievers Yuki Matsui and Wandy Peralta weighing their player options. The deadline for these decisions is coming up on Monday, November 2.

Furthermore, both starting pitcher Nick Pivetta and relief pitcher Kyle Hart are looking at team options for the 2027 season, with expectations that negotiations for a new contract will ramp up soon, especially for Pivetta, who has a $14 million option.

Team options need to be sorted out by November 2, and three Padres, Miguel Andujar (infielder), Griffin Canning (starting pitcher), and Lucas Giolito (starting pitcher), also have mutual options expected to be declined by that date.

Giants Free Agents

As for the Giants, they have only seen one player, JT Brubaker (relief pitcher), hit free agency as the offseason begins.
