MO Lawmaker Reveals Missionary Daughter, Son-in-Law Killed by Gangs in Haiti

Missouri Rep. Ben Baker (R-Missouri) revealed that his daughter and son-in-law were killed in a gang attack while serving as missionaries in Haiti.

Baker posted on Facebook early Friday morning that his heart was “shattered” after his daughter Natalie Lloyd and son-in-law Davy Lloyd were “attacked by a gang”.

“My heart is broken into a thousand pieces,” Baker wrote. “I have never felt such pain before. As many of you know my daughter and son-in-law, Davey and Natalie Lloyd, are serving as full-time missionaries in Haiti. They were attacked this evening by a gang and both were killed. They have both gone to heaven.”

Baker continued to ask for prayers for the family, adding that “they desperately need strength.”

“And please pray for Lloyd’s family,” Baker added. “There’s nothing else to say at this time.”

Baker’s daughter and son-in-law served as missionaries in Port-au-Prince for the Haiti Missionary Society. Established It was founded in 2000 by Davi’s parents, David and Alicia Lloyd.

He said another gang member then showed up and asked if they could help him. This led to chaos, leading to one man being shot dead and the gang going into “all-out attack mode.”

Davie, Natalie and the organization’s Haitian director, Jude Monteith, were shot and killed around 9 p.m. Thursday, the organization shared in a separate Facebook post. post.

The U.S. State Department has issued a travel notice. Recommendation An advisory issued for Haiti in July 2023 warned against travel to the country due to the risk of “kidnapping, crime, civil unrest and inadequate health infrastructure.”
