A cast member of “Only Murder in the Building” farted in Meryl Streep’s face while filming season 4, star and producer Selena Gomez has revealed.
Gomez, 31, recalled an incident with co-star Martin Short. “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday night.
Short, who guest hosted the late-night show, explained that the upcoming season of the Hulu comedy will feature “incredible” guest stars.
“The ones that I laugh at the most are the ones that don’t make it to the end of a scene,” Short, 74, told Gomez.
“There’s a scene where Molly Shannon comes in and is yelling at all the actors in the scene,” Short explained. “She’s drunk, and in the final edit that I saw, she’s laughing too.”
“Molly is just hysterical,” he added. “Every take is different, and you can see her shaking her head.”
Gomez couldn’t help but talk about this strange incident.
“She farted in Meryl’s face,” Gomez said.
“I was like, ‘What is going on?’ And Meryl loved it!” she added, laughing through tears.
Gomez continued, “I’m so sorry. Even my editor doesn’t know if it’s a good take because I screw up every take. She [doing improv] And she gave it her all and it was perfect every time. Perfect.”
“It’s a great time to work with those guys,” Short said.
“Only Murders in the Building” returns for its fourth season on August 27, and Shannon, 59, is one of the new cast members.

Other new additions to the cast for season four include Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani and Zach Galifianakis.
Streep will join the cast in season 3, reprising her role as Loretta.
The Emmy Award-winning series stars Gomez (Mabel Mora), Short (Oliver Putnam) and Steve Martin (Charles Haden-Savage) as an unlikely trio who live in the same building in New York City, create a podcast together and solve murder cases.
Season 4 sees Arconia 3 heading to Los Angeles.
Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group He told Deadline “We’re so excited for Steve, Martin and Selena to leave their apartments for a bit and come to Los Angeles,” she said earlier this year. “Just as John Hoffman has used the canvas of Broadway to paint what I think is one of the most unique seasons ever, we’re excited to see that same unique take on Only Murders applied to Los Angeles.”
Gomez also expressed her excitement about working with Streep in “JKL!”
“As an actress, it’s a dream come true to work with someone as amazing as her,” she said of her co-star, “but she was so laid back, like she was part of our family. She was barefoot, singing, talking to everybody… that was graceful to me. That was real class.”
