A mother of four struggling to keep money in the bank accused lawmakers of being “unaware” of how high inflation is affecting families across the country.
Louisiana’s Amber Bergeron directed her anger at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.), who shared a clip declaring that inflation was just “propaganda,” especially on Friday. 61% seem to reveal a recent study that lives on their paycheck) on their paycheck.

A Bronx MP Thursday shared a video from New Zealand’s left-wing Aotearoa Liberation League to her Instagram story, in which a woman said “propaganda” around inflation was the real blame for rising global costs. He claimed it was intended to protect “greedy shareholders.”
Despite the White House’s repeated touting of its “bidenomics” plan to combat inflation, Mr. Bergeron said he has seen little change in daily dues.
Ms Bergeron’s electricity bill, medical bills and insurance are just the latest in a string of necessities she’s noticed rising in price in recent days, she said.
The Bergeron family isn’t barely living to survive each week, but they weren’t able to save enough money to fund rainy days, and they had a truck crash this week.
“Usually, if something went wrong and I didn’t have money in my savings, I would go and get a loan,” the mother said. “But interest rates are so high right now that it’s not possible to pay monthly bills.”
To make up for the lack of savings, her husband works extra hours whenever possible. This means less time spent with young families.
“It doesn’t look very good,” Mr. Bergeron said when asked about the overall situation.
“And I know this is typical for a lot of Americans right now and that these things have to be worrying about,” she said.
On Friday, President Biden boasted monthly jobs figures showing that about 187,000 new jobs were created in August, while more than six in 10 Americans in July were unable to make ends meet. I ignored questions about data that showed struggles.
The shocking survey showed a 59% increase compared to the same month last year, showing Americans are spending more on everything from groceries to prescriptions to entertainment. .
The survey is in line with newly released data from the federal government on Thursday that showed the personal consumption expenditure index, a key inflation indicator closely watched by the Fed, rose 0.2% month-on-month.
