Landen Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden's child, Marine Joan Roberts, supports President Biden's decision to grant a major pardon to her son.
“I think what Joe did is what any loving parent would do, and not everyone will understand that,” Roberts said in a statement provided to the Daily Mail by publisher Skyhorse. said. “I want to see more of that love for Navy Joan, and I hope Biden takes the step to become my daughter's grandparents.”
Ms Roberts went on to say she believed Hunter was “targeted because of who his father is”.
“I don't know what it's like to be president, so I can't say what choices I would make if I were in Biden's shoes, but I'm a mom,” she said. “There's nothing I wouldn't do for my child. There's no wall I wouldn't break for Navy Joan.”

“A lot of people have done what he did and never got in trouble,” Roberts added. “But his father is the president, so he's put into a different situation.”
Despite repeatedly saying he would not pardon Mr. Hunter, President Biden reversed course and decided to reprimand Mr. Hunter for crimes committed or potentially committed by his son between January 1, 2014 and December 1, 2024. Granted amnesty for all crimes against the United States.
Therefore, this sweeping pardon covers, but is not limited to, Hunter's conviction for federal gun crimes in Delaware and his guilty plea to federal tax charges in California. He was scheduled to be sentenced on both cases this month.
Mr. Roberts wrote a book titled “Out of the Shadows: My Life in the Wild World of Hunter Biden,” which was published in August.
The Arkansas native detailed how she met Hunter while she was in Washington, D.C., for school and at the height of his crack cocaine addiction.

She said she returned to her hometown after becoming pregnant, but was estranged from Hunter, who at the time was already the father of three daughters with ex-wife Kathleen Buhle. Roberts gave birth to her daughter, Navy, in August 2018.
Hunter also briefly dated the widow of his late brother Beau Biden, before marrying his current wife Melissa Cohen Biden shortly after. The couple welcomed a son, Beau Biden Jr., in March 2020.
Only six grandchildren, not including the Marines, have participated in the White House Christmas stocking display. President Biden had refused to recognize Navy as his grandson until July 2023.

A court-ordered paternity test confirmed Hunter was Navy's father in 2020. Earlier this year, Roberts agreed to reduce Hunter's child support payments in exchange for him trying to build a relationship with his daughter.
Roberts said Hunter spoke to her daughter on Zoom.
