An Akron, Ohio, mother is thanking the man who saved her young son from a flying hockey puck during a Cleveland Monsters game Thursday.
After the incident, Asia Davis discovered a quick-thinking man online who claimed to have saved her 4-year-old son, Nasir, from being beaten, WKYC announced. report Sunday.
When the first incident occurred, she and her young son were attending a Monsters home game when a puck appeared out of nowhere and approached the child.
However, a man sitting next to Nasir stopped him before anything bad could happen.
video footage show The puck flies off the ice as the crowd screams. The camera swings back and forth, then turns to the boy, who raises his arms to protect himself. It also depicts how the protagonist of the story stoops in front of Nasir to stop him.
Davis said of the incident:That’s flying [traumatic brain injury] …This man literally saved my son’s life. He prevented something that would change his life from happening. ”
When Davis shared her story online, the internet took over and identified the protagonist as Andrew Podolak.once she was found Ms. Podlak, Ms. Davis said, told him about what happened.
“He was like, ‘I was supposed to be here.’ And he was. You can’t say God isn’t real,” she added, according to NBC News.

The trio was invited to participate in a VIP pack drop. “Andrew’s nimble hands grabbed the puck out of the air, and he kindly gave it to Nasir as a souvenir,” the announcer said in the video.
