Money saved by shutting DOE must go to school choice

Some House Democrats were not pleased that they were not prevented from entering the Department of Education on Friday.

They have got the word that President Trump is expected to issue an executive order to abolish the department, and they are in panic mode.

The division was established in 1979 in political return by the Democratic president to the nation's largest union, the National Education Association.

This teachers' union is essentially run as a radical left-wing money laundering operation. Over 98% of the campaign's contributions went to the Democrats during the 2024 election cycle.

This incest relationship is not new either. According to available data shared by OpenCrets, the percentage of Democratic politicians contributed to more than 87% per election cycle over the past 30 years.

No wonder Democratic politicians are going crazy. The jig is up.

It is time in the past that removes this unconstitutional waste of time and money. President Trump campaigned on his exclusion, earning nine points on the parent-voting issue, with voters backing him on education issues. He has the authority to do that.

Closing the education sector and splitting the budget between states will allow for more local control as the state spends its education as it appears appropriate.

But in states like New York where most politicians want to deal with special interests, money can be used to undermine educational freedom.

On the campaign trail, Trump acknowledged this potential downside to his plan. In Pennsylvania Rallysix weeks before Election Day, he said, “I intend to close the Ministry of Education and bring education back to the state.”

He said states like Iowa (where there is a choice of schools for all families) would help control their own education systems, but “four or five.” [states] It must be terrible. ”

“There's probably a problem in California,” he added.

To resolve this issue, the laws passed by Congress to close the Ministry of Education must say that if the state has a robust school selection program, they can receive block grant funds from the closure department. It won't be.

This requirement has little impact (if any) on the red states that have already passed the bill to empower all families with school choices.

In fact, 13 states with legislatures managed by Republicans, the most recent state of Tennessee, passed a universal school choice policy last week over the past four years alone.

Over the past four years, there has been more progress in school choice than in the past four years.

The plan gives lawmakers managed by Blue State unions an incentive to listen to their parents, who are actual members.

Congress could require states to enact a school selection initiative that is available to all families, either through educational savings accounts or scholarships, to receive federal funds.

This requirement could provide that federal dollars must be used for school selection initiatives or that states can instead determine a voucher system and allow state-level dollars to track children. (already is that in many red states).

Lawmakers can also prohibit arbitrary limits on the number of charter schools the state is permitted to open.

This is a rare federal mandate in which funding requirements do not overturn local control. After all, the most local level of control is family units rather than nationals.

The choice of schools is on the Republican platform, with the GOP administering the House and Senate in addition to its oval office.

Republicans have the perfect opportunity for the next Secretary of Education, Linda McMahon, to help the Department of Education body slums and return education to their parents.

They are the first educators of children and know their children's needs better than bureaucrats in offices hundreds or thousands of miles away.
