Moral truth: Why Taylor Swift’s endorsement is dangerous

Taylor Swift has been dominating the headlines thanks to her highly publicized relationship and skyrocketing career with NFL tight end Travis Kelce, but now she's dominating the headlines again for a whole new reason.

In an Instagram post following the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, Swift endorsed Harris and urged voters to do their own research. She signed her statement as a “childless cat lady” and mocked J.D. Vance's comments.

She's a celebrity, but many of those interested in the country's future don't care what the pop star elite thinks. Allie Beth Stuckey The founder of Relatable believes her voice has the power to “shape the worldview, perspective, and definition of moral truth for many young women.”

“I am incredibly encouraged that Tim Walz has been selected as my running mate,” Swift said in a statement. “He has a long history of championing LGBTQ rights, IVF, and women's bodily rights.”

“That's her euphemism for dismembering, poisoning and starving live babies in the womb,” Stuckey said, adding, “What she seems to be implying, at the very least, is that we should all support and endorse someone like Harris, who is extremely radical on issues like abortion.”

While Swift voiced her support for Kamala, WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who many young women look up to, also hinted at the same sentiment.

Not only did she like Swift's post, but when asked who she would support for president, she mentioned Swift's post, telling reporters that supporting someone is “the biggest thing” she can do with her platform.

“That's the same thing that Taylor did,” she said. “I think we should continue to educate ourselves about the candidates that we have on the books and the policies that they support. I think that's the biggest thing you can do.”

Stuckey is disappointed because he believes Clark will vote for Kamala.

“I believe she's Catholic. There's no way I'm voting for a pro-abortion candidate, come on,” Stuckey said. “Take your own advice, educate yourself on the policies, and ask yourself: 'Is this going to create more order or less order? More peace or less peace? Is this going to create a better, safer, more prosperous future for our children and our grandchildren, or a less safe, more dangerous, less prosperous future?'”
