More than 100 never-before-seen videos from Gypsy Rose Blanchard to her boyfriend who killed have been made public

Over 100 previously unreleased videos detailing America’s notorious murders have emerged after a recent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard served seven years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in 2016 for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Claudine “Dee Dee” Blanchard, the mother of her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn.

Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing Dee Dee in her bedroom.

Despite her release in December 2023 and her new role as a mother, the case continues to captivate public interest.

The unsettling nature of this case—marked by its bizarre twists—has led experts to describe it as “a disturbing and complex narrative where the distinction between victim and perpetrator becomes blurred.”

Gypsy’s reasoning for persuading Godejohn, whom she met online three years prior to the incident, to kill her mother stemmed from her desire to “escape her mother.”

Dee Dee had manipulated perceptions of her daughter’s health for years, claiming Gypsy was seriously ill when she was not.

This evident case of Munchausen syndrome by proxy, where parents exaggerate or fabricate medical conditions to gain sympathy, keeps the story alive even nearly a decade later, with mixed feelings still lingering.

Since being freed, Gypsy, now 34, has quickly gained prominence as an influencer, attracting millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram.

A recently released video shows her casually sitting on a couch, wearing a red strappy dress and a curly brown wig.

Despite her withdrawal from social media, citing that public attention felt like another form of imprisonment, discussions around the case have surged following the release of a new video.

The clip, part of the Into the Weeds Podcast on YouTube, features supposed video messages exchanged between Gypsy and Godejohn throughout their online relationship.

In one particular video, Gypsy openly expresses her fantasies with Godejohn, even describing him as a vampire while sharing her dreams of marriage.

She discusses their profound connection and makes rather graphic comments implying a master-slave dynamic, while also whimsically addressing future children.

“Our first baby boy will be protected from the outside world because they won’t understand you’re a vampire,” she states.

She mentions that if they have a girl, she would need to “understand” her role when she’s old enough, not at seven but around thirteen.

In various other clips, Gypsy adopts different characters, each represented by distinct wigs, filmed in various locations around the house where her mother was murdered.

The release of these videos has ignited conversations across social media platforms like TikTok, with users labeling them as “invisible evidence” of the tragic events that transpired.

Accessing the “never-before-seen” video collection required a payment of $786.92 and was procured through an extensive FOIA procedure with Missouri authorities. However, some videos remain unreleased due to concerns over the privacy of intimate content.

The TikTok community reacted strongly, with many highlighting peculiar details like Gypsy seemingly wearing a hospital band in one clip.

Before the murder plot, Gypsy was wheelchair-bound and depended on a feeding tube, reportedly enduring numerous medical issues that were later revealed to be exaggerated or fabricated.

During the trial, it was found that Dee Dee forced her to undergo unnecessary treatments and medications, which took a toll on Gypsy’s health.

Prosecutor Dan Patterson acknowledged the abuse while offering Gypsy a plea deal, stating, “This is murder. It’s first-degree murder. But it’s also one of the most unusual cases we’ve ever encountered.”

Dee Dee, while presenting a loving persona, was later understood to have fabricated much of her daughter’s medical history.

Gypsy has described her mother’s control as akin to being imprisoned, a life where freedom was merely an illusion.

This situation drastically changed when she met Godejohn on a Christian dating site in 2012, realizing her health had been manipulated. Their immediate connection led to an illicit relationship.

After years of online communication, the couple finally met in person in March 2015 at a movie theater, where they would engage in romantic encounters despite Dee Dee’s disapproval.

Once they spent days together, normal activities also included stealing the knife used for the murder from Walmart.

The culmination of their feelings and plans turned dark. On that fateful day, Gypsy organized Godejohn’s entrance into her home, where she provided him with duct tape, gloves, and the murder weapon.

While she hid, Godejohn attacked her mother, and afterward, the couple fled with stolen cash.

When the case became public, the community was left in shock, yet some professionals had previously noted Dee Dee’s suspicious behavior and suspected Munchausen by proxy.

In the aftermath, Gypsy’s life took a turn; she married while incarcerated but later separated. Now, she has welcomed a daughter, Aurora Aaker, with her current partner, Ken Aaker.

Godejohn, who faces life imprisonment and an additional 25 years for armed criminal activity, remains incarcerated, while Gypsy attempts to build a new life.
