Famous actor Morgan Freeman has publicly spoken out against the unauthorized use of his voice by AI technology.
Morgan Freeman has one of the most iconic voices in Hollywood history (except for James Earl Jones), and has lent his voice to everything from movies to commercials to documentaries to public service announcements. With advances in AI technology, his voice could easily be replicated by a machine, which would take away any freedom he has over his appearance. In a Facebook post this week, Freeman complained: video A video featuring an impressive AI version of his voice went viral on TikTok.
“Welcome to my niece’s everyday life, narrated by me, Morgan Freeman,” the video begins.
Although the creator used the hashtag “AI,” many users mistakenly thought that Freeman was narrating the video, and Freeman thanked fans for letting him know about it.
“I would like to thank all my amazing fans for their vigilance and support in reporting the unauthorized use of an AI voice imitation of my voice,” he posted. His Facebook“Your dedication keeps credibility and integrity a priority. Thank you. #AI #Fraud #Copycat #IdentityProtection.”
Breitbart News recently reported that an AI rendering of Morgan Freeman managed to overcome the uncanny valley, even fooling heads of Freeman’s own production company. Produced by Speaking at the panel “AI: What Every Producer Should Know,” Lori McCleary, CEO of Morgan Freeman’s production company Revelations Entertainment, said the industry needs to find a way to deal with deepfakes, which could potentially fool anyone.

While McCreary can usually spot fakes when it comes to Morgan Freeman, one particular video fooled her so much that she had to make several phone calls to verify it was real.
“She received a video of Freeman appearing to promote the book. McCleary the unforgiven “We asked the star and makeup artist to double-check that the promotional footage was actually shot, because it was so amazing.” deadline.
McCleary told the audience that the industry needs to come up with ways to instantly identify fakes.
“As a community, we need to be proactive. Build the tools, be prepared so that when something comes along we know it’s real. We want the bug to tell us this is the real Morgan,” she said.
The rise of AI has become one of the hottest topics in entertainment, leading to an uncertain future that could change the industry forever. Actor Ashton Kutcher recently said that AI could create a situation where there is more content on the planet than there are people watching it.
“You’ll be able to render an entire movie. You come up with an idea for a movie, a script will be written, you feed that script into a video generator and it will generate a movie for you,” he said. “Instead of watching a movie someone else has made, you’ll be watching a movie you’ve made.”
