‘Morning Joe’ Crew Lets Out Audible Groans As They Pearl-Clutch Over Eric Trump’s Memorial Day Post

The “Morning Joe” panel was stunned and groaned Tuesday at Eric Trump’s post celebrating Memorial Day.

The former president’s son was responding to a Twitter post that included a photo of the Trump family celebrating Memorial Day with the caption “The family that sacrificed everything to save America,” and proclaimed that the family would “do it again.” The photo also features the former president and former first lady Melania Trump, Eric and his wife Lara, and Donald Trump Jr. and his fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle.

“And it’s not just about former President Trump, his son Eric has also received well-deserved backlash for a social media post after a user posted a photo of his family with the caption, ‘A family that sacrificed everything to save America. Thank you!'” said panelist Willie Geist.

“Oh my God,” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski said simultaneously.

“Well, umm,” Brzezinski continued.

“Oh my God,” Scarborough said as Geist read Eric Trump’s response. “Oh my God.” (Related: Ilhan Omar comes under fire for completely misinterpreting Memorial Day)

The co-hosts continued groaning after Geist reported on a now-deleted Instagram post Eric made in which he promoted the Trump Store’s Memorial Day sale. “This weekend we’re honoring brave men and women. Shop our merch,” the post read. The post has since been removed from his Instagram account, but the Memorial Day sale is still ongoing.

They also pointed out the so-called “contrast” between the current president and President Trump’s respect for U.S. veterans and praised President Joe Biden.

President Trump sent Memorial Day bestowals on New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Marchand, who is overseeing the hush money trial of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling him “human scum” who is trying to “destroy” the United States.

“Happy Memorial Day to everyone, including the human scum who are working hard to destroy our once great country, and to the far-left, Trump-hating federal judge in New York who presided over two separate cases in which I forced women I never met (a quick handshake at a celebrity event 25 years ago doesn’t count!) to pay $91 million for ‘defamation’,” he said at Truth Social, referring to the defamation and sexual assault case filed by E. Jean Carroll.

A grand jury found Trump liable for sexual assault and defamation, but not for rape, in a verdict dated May 9, 2023. Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million in damages and paid a $91 million civil bond, but his defense team is currently appealing the case.
