Morning Show's ‘Queer Eye’ Interview Takes a Turn into an Awkward PR Fail

Karamo Brown, a member of the cast of Queer Eye, chose not to participate in a recent interview. During the discussion, he expressed fears about possibly being “bullied.”

The interview started with Dr. King, who read aloud a statement from Brown to CBS addressing his absence from the interview sessions meant to promote the show’s tenth season.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who welcomed me into their homes over the past ten seasons. Season 10 is truly incredible, and I’m confident you’ll connect with all the wonderful individuals we’ve had the chance to help,” Brown mentioned in his statement.

“As the show comes to a close, it’s important for everyone to remember the core message I’ve emphasized throughout the past decade—prioritizing mental health and safeguarding it from those and the world that can threaten it. This is why I can’t be here today. My heartfelt thanks to the amazing team and executives who believed in me. It’s been a humbling journey over these ten seasons.”

Brown is part of this season’s Queer Eye cast, which includes Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, and Jeremiah Brent.

After reading the statement, the surprise among the remaining cast members was evident.

For instance, Porowski remarked, “Surprise is an understatement.”

“Considering how long we’ve been part of this Queer Eye journey, it’s astounding, but family dynamics can be complex, and we aren’t exempt from that,” he noted.

Van Ness shared how much he has learned from Brown.

“He has taught many to prioritize their own needs. I’m genuinely proud of him. Taking care of oneself is crucial, and I’d be dishonest if I said I didn’t resonate with that sometimes,” Van Ness added. “It’s a powerful reminder to focus on our well-being. Kudos to him for making that choice today.”

Brent remarked on his positive experience during the show.

“I felt genuinely supported and safe here,” Brent stated. “Every moment of this show has been wonderful, and I’m thrilled to bring this next season to life, as it really showcases the best aspects of humanity.”

Although Brown did not elaborate much on his feelings of potential “bullying” during his appearance on CBS Morning, it seems he was attempting to portray himself as a defender against the new CBS News chief, Bari Weiss, who has faced negative portrayals from some liberals.

Nevertheless, based on the segment from CBS Morning, there didn’t seem to be any issues during the interview itself. Dr. King guided the conversation without any friction regarding it or its content.
