Utah Mother Allegedly Kidnaps Four Children, Fears “End Times”
A Utah mother, Elesia Anne Seymour, is facing serious allegations of kidnapping her four children, reportedly taking them to Europe out of fear that the “end times” were approaching. Her ex-husband, Kendall Seymour, is desperately trying to get them back.
On November 30, surveillance footage showed Elesia boarding a one-way flight to Croatia with her children at Salt Lake City International Airport. This Delta Airlines flight had a layover in Amsterdam.
The 35-year-old mother, who is currently believed to be somewhere in Europe, shares partial custody of her kids with two former partners.
Authorities became aware of the situation when Elesia ceased communication and stopped showing up for work. A welfare check at her residence was conducted on December 2, only to find that she and the children were missing.
On that same day, she reportedly left a voicemail for one of the fathers, claiming that the “end times” were imminent and that she was planning to remain in France while securing permanent residency for the kids.
Kendall Seymour has publicly accused his ex-wife of taking their children without permission. “My children were kidnapped overseas by their mother,” he stated on a crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe. “We only realized something was wrong when we noticed they were missing on December 2.”
He detailed that she allegedly kidnapped their three children—Landon, who had just turned 11, Levi, 8, Hazel, 7—and a fourth child, Jacob, who is 3 years old and belongs to another father.
On December 10, the Utah Department of Public Safety officially named Elesia as the abductor after Kendall filed a missing person’s advisory. It’s believed she forged the children’s passport documents to board the flight.
Kendall expressed concerns about a note left by Elesia, which reportedly contained what he described as “a delusional message from God.” It seemed to promise that they would reach Italy by Christmas. Other signs of her state of mind included a to-do list found at home that advised her to destroy her identification and throw away her cellphone.
Seymour now faces four counts of interference with custody, which is classified as a third-degree felony. An emergency protection order has been issued, along with a no-bail arrest warrant.
Federal authorities are now involved, with Kendall hoping that the state warrant can escalate to a federal level, allowing Interpol to issue an arrest warrant.
“The ideal scenario would be to receive a call saying she’s been located, after which my fiancé and I would fly out to get the kids,” he shared.
In light of the circumstances, Kendall has launched a fundraising campaign to help cover travel expenses to bring the children back. He expressed a desire to minimize “the trauma” they might experience from the situation.
As for the long-term outlook, the family’s lawyer mentioned that if Elesia is found, she could be facing significant legal consequences, perhaps even potential felony charges. The lawyer speculated that, depending on the situation, Kendall might adjust custody arrangements to ensure he has primary control over their children’s passports and future.
