Texas Mother Accused of Stabbing Family
A mother in Texas has been charged with stabbing her two young children, aged 3 years and 10 months, along with her husband early Tuesday morning, according to reports from KXAS-TV.
Police responded to a call around 4:20 a.m. about a stabbing occurring at a residence on Daylily Drive. The call was made by the husband, who indicated that his wife was attacking him with a knife.
Police Chief Robert Crawford mentioned that the man was attempting to reach their children, who were in a separate room, while his wife was actively assaulting him. He ultimately had to escape outside.
Upon their arrival, officers detained the 37-year-old woman. The husband suffered a stab wound to the head but is expected to recover. Meanwhile, both children were found with stab wounds to the chest and were taken to a hospital in Fort Worth; fortunately, they are anticipated to survive their injuries.
The detained mother has been identified as Holly Leeann Flores. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and potential injuries but was later released and jailed. Flores now faces charges of two counts of attempted capital murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. There are currently no known bond or court date records for her.
Crawford noted that Flores was not particularly communicative with officers following her detention, stating, “More of a stare — didn’t really say a whole lot.”
Interestingly, police had previously conducted welfare checks at the home five times since March, raising concerns about the family situation.
Neighbor Brittany Flores expressed her concern, mentioning that it was troubling to learn police had visited the home multiple times. She stated, “I think it’s awful that the police were here multiple times, and it sounds like something like this could have been prevented if there was some kind of intervention.” The gravity of the situation left her shocked, as she reflected on the unknowns regarding the family’s circumstances.
Other neighbors pointed out that they had interacted with Flores at neighborhood gatherings and noted her balloon business. Brittany said they had shared experiences about parenting but suspected deeper issues were at play that went beyond casual conversations at events like birthday parties.
Neighbor Ally Barfuss shared her heartbreak for the children and their mother, hoping for their well-being. She remarked, “It breaks my heart for both of them — the kids and the mom. I feel really sad for all of them. I hope everyone is okay, including her.”
The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover more details regarding the events that unfolded.
