Florida Mother Leaves Children in Hot Car
Officials report that a Florida mother left her two kids unattended in a hot vehicle while she shopped on one of the hottest days of the year, 2025.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office shared on Facebook that Marianne Isner allegedly left her children alone in a parked car outside a Dollar Tree in Lehiacre, Florida, on Sunday.
Authorities indicate that the car, which was not running, reached an internal temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. They noted that outdoor temperatures of nearly 98 degrees can cause cars to heat up very quickly, often reaching dangerous levels within just ten minutes of closing all the windows.
Upon arrival, deputies reportedly discovered two boys safely buckled in their seats. When questioned by her lieutenant, Isner claimed she had only been in the store for five minutes; however, officials believe her shopping took about 25 minutes.
Isner has been charged with neglect for leaving her children in the car. She has since been released on a $1,500 bond, and her next court date is scheduled for August 11.
Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno commented that this incident sends a strong message to parents about the dangers of leaving children unattended in vehicles.
“This woman chose to put her children in danger during the hottest days in southwest Florida this year,” he stated. “Let this be a reminder that we will hold individuals accountable for risking lives. We are thankful that these children are safe.”
