Alleged Balcony Push in NYC Leaves Mother Dead, Baby Injured

A tragic incident in New York City has resulted in a mother dying and her baby being critically injured after they were reportedly pushed from an apartment balcony. The police are currently searching for a man linked to the case.

The NYPD named 31-year-old Angel Carrasco as the suspect they are seeking. This came after 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez and her 8-month-old daughter were discovered outside their Bronx apartment building on Tuesday morning.

The incident took place when they fell from a 15th-floor balcony, according to reports. Investigators are particularly interested in Ramirez’s boyfriend or recent ex-boyfriend, suspecting domestic violence may have been involved.

According to reports, it seems Ramirez held on tightly to her daughter during the fall, which possibly helped lessen the baby’s injuries. Neighbors recounted hearing Ramirez’s desperate cry just before the incident. “Please don’t do this!” she reportedly shouted.

Police responded to a 911 call around 3:38 a.m. at 2550 Olinville Ave., where they found both mother and child showing signs of having fallen from a significant height.

“Further investigation determined that both individuals had been pushed from a balcony,” a police statement indicated.

The baby was rushed to the hospital in critical condition while Ramirez tragically was pronounced dead at another hospital. Authorities later identified Carrasco as a person of interest and released his image, but they have not disclosed his specific relationship to Ramirez or mentioned any formal charges.

According to informants, the couple had a background of domestic violence, and police had previously been called to their home multiple times. One neighbor revealed that they often heard shouting coming from the apartment.

Currently, no arrests have been made, and authorities are continuing their investigation. Anyone who may know Carrasco’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
