Investigation Launched After Gruesome Discovery in Brooklyn

Authorities are looking into the shocking find of a dismembered body belonging to a mother of four, discovered in the basement of a public housing complex.

The victim, identified as Michelle Montgomery, 39, left her Brooklyn home on Saturday night to spend time with friends, according to her partner, Anthony Echevarria. He is the father of her youngest child.

Echevarria mentioned that around 10 PM on the night she went out, he received an odd call from Montgomery. She mentioned hearing music but the call dropped abruptly, leaving him unsure if she intended to reach out.

About an hour later, Montgomery shared a TikTok video of herself enjoying a dance at a local restaurant.

Tragically, the following morning around 9:30 AM, a caretaker at the Borikunen public housing complex in Bushwick came across her remains in a dumpster. Workers from the New York City Housing Authority noticed an unusually heavy garbage bag in the basement and, upon inspection, found dismembered human remains inside.

Residents expressed their disbelief at the horrific discovery. Some reported hearing screams from the workers upon finding the remains.

The coroner has not yet released details regarding Montgomery’s cause of death.

Echevarria conveyed the family’s devastation over the loss and the disturbing nature of the event. “Initially, it was hard to grasp. I mean, I was heartbroken. It’s just unbelievable,” he remarked. “It’s all so extreme. How could she end up like this?”

Close friends who viewed Montgomery’s last video noted she seemed unaware of who was around her while she was dancing.

Echevarria paid tribute to her, saying she was a wonderful mother who attended to her children’s every need, promising, “We will get justice.” He seems determined to seek answers.
