Identified Woman Living in Los Angeles Storm Drain

Last week, it was revealed that a woman, previously known for living in a storm drain in Los Angeles, is a mother of three.

Jameela Robinson, once recognized for her musical talents, has been living in a makeshift underground camp fraught with human waste and hazardous materials. This information was shared by her family as the city started the cleanup process.

Robinson, reportedly, declined help from her family, including her mother, whom she had been in touch with.

When asked about how her daughter ended up in this situation, Robinson’s mother, Linda, attributed it to “drugs.” This revelation surprised some family members, like her sister Camilla.

“When I saw it, I was shocked to discover it was my sister living like that,” Camilla said after a friend informed her about the news.

The family had been attempting to reach her and wanted local authorities to ensure she received proper medical care.

“This is the second time she’s been in the sewer,” Linda mentioned, adding that others had previously used the same drain.

After the pit was discovered, city officials labeled it a “hot zone” and sealed it with asphalt. While officials offered assistance to Jameela, a video showed her walking away from the help. The family has since lost contact with her.

“It’s heartbreaking to see her just leave,” Camilla expressed. She added, “If it were someone’s daughter or sister in a similar situation, it feels like there would be more action taken.” Families believe that more than just offers of help are necessary.

Linda, reflecting on her daughter’s past, recalled how Jameela once received compliments for her singing, highlighting the contrast between her previous happiness and her current circumstances.

“We struggled to get the courts to understand her mental health issues. Now, maybe the world can see it too,” Linda said, hoping this situation might lead to them receiving the help they need.
