Democratic Rep. Seth Moulton of Massachusetts said he has “serious concerns” about whether President Joe Biden can defeat former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.
“While I have deep respect for President Biden and all he has accomplished for America, I have serious concerns about whether he can defeat Donald Trump,” Moulton said. I got it..
“President Biden is not going to get any younger.”
“To win, you have to take the case to the media, to town halls, and at campaign events around the country. President Biden needs to show he can do that. Unfortunately, as things stand, we’re likely to see a Trump presidency,” Moulton asserted. “Taking chances when the current strategy isn’t working is not the right decision. President Biden is not going to get any younger.”
“I have always said, and I respect my colleagues who have already spoken out, that America needs to develop a new generation of leaders. All options should be on the table,” he opined.
Biden’s reelection efforts have been in turmoil for nearly a week following his poor performance in last week’s presidential debate.
Democratic Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas called on Biden to back down.
“If he was the nominee, I would support him, but I think this is an opportunity to look for other candidates,” Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) said. The New York Times“What he needs to do is take responsibility for keeping that seat, and part of that responsibility is to withdraw from this election.”
