‘Mow The Lawn’: Increasing Indications of US Preparing Military Action Against Iran

Reports indicate that the U.S. military could launch a significant attack on Iran within 96 hours if President Donald Trump gives the command.

American forces are already strategically positioned in the Middle East, ready for an expansive offensive aimed at Iranian military bases, nuclear sites, and energy resources, as conveyed by two unnamed U.S. officials to CNN. Though Trump has yet to authorize such actions, Pentagon preparations are underway as Israel advocates for a collaborative military engagement, with American intelligence agencies cautioning that Iran might retaliate against U.S. interests in the area.

“The Department is a planning organization, and its role is to create and implement military options as directed by the President,” a senior Pentagon official remarked in a statement.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has not provided any immediate comment.

This prospective operation would represent a departure from previous tactics, which primarily involved targeted strikes on Iranian assets to maintain balance, according to a senior official who mentioned that this endeavor “will be a big effort.”

As reported by the DCNF on October 18, the U.S. might be poised to conduct a significant military operation after the midterm elections.

U.S. intelligence suggests that both Iran and its allies, the Houthis, take the threat of continued U.S. or Israeli attacks quite seriously. This change in military strategy could encourage Iran and the Houthis to target American citizens and installations in the Middle East and beyond.

According to an October 17 memo from Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Iran has “significantly escalated efforts to target U.S. personnel,” and these planning efforts have advanced in the Middle East as well as in other regions, CNN reported.
