ICE Arrests MS-13 Kingpin and Associates in Nebraska
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigation team apprehended a leader of the MS-13 gang along with two associates in Nebraska on Wednesday.
This kingpin is reportedly listed among El Salvador’s “Top 100 Most Wanted,” although authorities have not yet disclosed his identity. He faces serious allegations, including involvement in multiple murders and connections to terrorist organizations, as mentioned in an ICE press release.
Mark Jeet Ice, a special agent overseeing Kansas City, remarked, “These illegal aliens are not just sneaking into our country; they bring a legacy of violence, fear, and death. We thought they could hide out in America’s Heartland, but they were mistaken—not on our watch.”
The operation targeted MS-13 members and associates, believed to have a hand in orchestrating grave crimes like murder and drug trafficking from Central America.
Authorities labeled this a “targeted enforcement action” in Omaha and labeled the individuals as “serious threats” to the local community.
Both suspects are residing in the U.S. illegally, and investigations are ongoing by ICE along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
In a statement, Todd M. Lyon, acting director of ICE, stressed the importance of public cooperation during such operations. He noted, “Misinformation can spread easily, and intervening could lead someone to confront a dangerous individual without understanding the risks involved.” He added, “Our officers and agents are committed to keeping your neighborhood safe, even if you’re unaware of the threats in your midst.”
Video footage from the arrest shows one of the suspects raising his hands as he was approached by an agent identified by “ATF police” and “Homeland Security Investigation” on their gear.
An ICE news release characterized the arrest as “uneventful.” This action comes amidst ongoing enforcement activities nationwide as ICE continues to highlight criminal charges against individuals with convictions.
