Ms. Rachel Announces Plans to Match Macklemore’s Donation to Palestinian Causes

Children’s YouTube star Ms. Rachel made headlines on Thursday when she declared her intention to match singer Macklemore’s $1 million donation aimed at helping Palestinian organizations. In her announcement, she also encouraged all “wealthy White celebrities” to follow suit.

Macklemore, in an Instagram post, shared his plans to direct his earnings from the “Loop Tour” with Ed Sheeran to various organizations, which include the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), UNRWA USA National Committee, and the Gaza Soup Kitchen, among others.

This announcement came shortly after Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s tour due to his calls for a “Free Palestine” and his performance of the anti-Israel song “Hind’s Hall” at MetLife Stadium earlier this month.

Ms. Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso, responded by stating on Instagram that she would match Macklemore’s donation and specifically called upon White celebrities to take action as well. She highlighted the tragic loss of more than 20,000 Palestinian children, emphasizing the moral obligation to use their platforms for advocacy.

“Over 20,000 precious Palestinian children have been killed and continue to be killed every day. We need to protect children and uphold human rights,” Accurso expressed, noting her intention to donate to the PCRF.

Fox News Digital attempted to reach Accurso for comments but didn’t get a reply immediately.

Macklemore has also challenged New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft to match his donation after Kraft declined to host him at Gillette Stadium due to Macklemore’s activism. Kraft countered by stating he had already pledged $2 million towards Palestinian aid based on his humanitarian work in the Middle East.

Accurso voiced her concerns regarding the silence from other celebrities about Gaza by suggesting that if the victims were “more than 20,000 White children,” the outcry would be much louder. “Treating some children’s lives as less worthy of outrage is racist,” she remarked, adding that silence during a genocide cannot be neutral.

However, Accurso’s comments have drawn criticism from pro-Israel groups, which assert that her statements reflect anti-Israel sentiments, accusing her of propagating the idea of “genocide” against Palestinians.

Rabbi Yaakov Menken, of the Coalition for Jewish Values, noted her focus on Gaza while seemingly neglecting the humanitarian crises affecting a larger number of children across the globe. He remarked on the disproportionate attention she garners for the situation in Gaza compared to other crises.

Ms. Rachel’s stance is a reflection of the ongoing complexities in discussions around Middle Eastern conflicts, revealing how individuals in the public eye navigate these sensitive topics. While her supporters applaud her activism, others question her motives and the broader implications of celebrity involvement in global issues.
