MSNBC anchors mock Virginia voters over immigration concerns

MSNBC anchors Jen Psaki, Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow mocked the fact that Virginia Republican primary voters considered immigration their top concern on live television.

Hosts on liberal-leaning news networks attacked voters while discussing early Super Tuesday exit poll results.

“I live in Virginia. Immigration has been the No. 1 issue,” Psaki said, drawing laughter from Reid.

“Well, Virginia borders West Virginia, which is a very war zone,” Maddow interjected sarcastically, prompting more murmurs from her co-hosts.

Despite the MSNBC crew’s callous rhetoric, voters named immigration as the most important issue facing the United States in recent polls.

Gallup’s monthly poll released at the end of February found that 28% of Americans are most concerned about immigration, up from 20% in January.

It was the first time in nearly five years that immigration topped the list of concerns among American adults surveyed.

Government was cited as the second biggest issue, and the economy came third.

The group that said immigration was the most important issue included 57% of Republicans, 22% of Democrats, and 10% of independents.
