Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest person and the world’s 10th richest person, paid Rihanna around $6 million for her performance at a lavish pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar, India. The Daily Mail reported.
Ambani, 66, the billionaire and managing director of Fortune 500 company Reliance Industries, is married to his son Anant Ambani, 28, and fiancee Radhika Merchant, 29. He reportedly hired Rihanna for a previous gala. Some of the world’s richest people include Ivanka Trump, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Walt Disney Co.’s Bob Iger. according to to the New York Times. According to the Daily Mail, Bollywood celebrities, sports legends and international dignitaries including former Swedish Prime Minister Karl Bildt, former Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the King of Bhutan also attended the event.
This isn’t the first time the family has splurged on star power: Beyoncé was paid $6 million for a private concert at Ambani’s daughter’s wedding in 2018, the Daily Mail reported report. The three-day pre-wedding event included performances by Rihanna as well as illusionist David Blaine and Bollywood’s Diljit Dosanjh.

Ambani’s festivities are nothing short of spectacular, with the three-day extravaganza estimated to cost around $151 million. According to the Daily Mail, catering has been contracted out to India’s leading five-star hotel group and is rumored to cost around $25 million alone.
