Authorities arrested a 53-year-old Missouri woman on Friday for allegedly trying to defraud Elvis Presley’s family out of millions of dollars.
Lisa Janine Findley was indicted on charges of mail fraud and aggravated identity theft for masterminding the conspiracy that led to the foreclosure of Graceland in May, according to a Department of Justice press release.

“As alleged in the complaint, the defendants schemed to fraudulently sell Graceland by falsely claiming that Elvis Presley’s daughter had pledged the historic property as collateral for a loan she was unable to repay during her lifetime,” said Principal Deputy Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri, Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. “As part of this audacious scheme, we allege that the defendants created numerous false documents in an attempt to extort settlement payments from the Presley family. The defendants are now facing federal charges, and the Criminal Division and its partners are committed to holding these fraudsters accountable.”
