Multiple injuries were reported Saturday when a truck and a car collided during the filming of Eddie Murphy’s movie “The Pickup,” the Associated Press reported.
Initial reports said several staff members on the film set were injured, with two requiring hospitalization. Associated Press. According to production officials, production at Amazon MGM Studios has been halted following the incident. A studio spokesperson said the scene was filmed in Georgia and had been rehearsed to ensure safety precautions. The victim’s injuries reportedly ranged from bruises and bruises to broken bones.

One of the victims was reportedly still hospitalized Tuesday. The Associated Press confirmed that Murphy and her co-stars Keki Palmer and Pete Davidson were not on set at the time of the incident. All affected parties are expected to make a full recovery.
Officials said they believe the truck being used at the scene was locked up and crashed.

“It was a completely freak accident,” the anonymous source said, according to the Associated Press. “It wasn’t a complicated or dangerous stunt.”
A studio spokesperson released a statement regarding the incident, explaining the sequence of events leading up to the crash.

“Unfortunately, operations did not go as planned and several crew members were injured as a result,” a spokesperson told The Associated Press. “We are still gathering the facts about what happened and why, but first and foremost our thoughts are with those who are recovering.”
“The health of all our crew and cast is our top priority and we will continue to advocate the highest industry standards of safety during filming. The identities of the injured and the cause of the accident have not been released at this time.
