A mother told of her son’s manipulative attempts to convince his girlfriend to stay over at their house.
Jessica’s son, Kayden, and his girlfriend, Keisha, are now both 18 and want to spend more time together, but they need to convince Kayden’s parents that they can still be trusted.
The video of Jessica Buell’s presentation of the couple has gone viral, with over 3 million views.
The presentation included a slideshow listing all the reasons parents should consider making a request.
“You expect two 18-year-olds to have sex, I get that,” Keisha began.
“So let’s go through your concerns with this slideshow.”
“Sex = having a baby = bankruptcy”
The first topic on the agenda was babies, or rather the couple’s clear desire not to have babies anytime soon.
“There’s work to be done in our future,” Keisha said.
“Sex = having a baby, which means no money. But I’m not trying to be broke.
“I understand your concern, but I don’t want to take on that responsibility right now. When I hear little kids crying, I want to shove them. So your concerns are at a minimum.”
“You don’t want to listen to us, you want to drink wine.”
The second point is that it doesn’t disturb anyone’s precious sleep.
“We’ll shut up,” Keisha said.
“You don’t want to listen to us, you want to drink wine.”
“I’m not planning on staying up late.”
“You know me, I go to bed at 10 o’clock,” Kayden told his mother.
“We’ll sleep better, he won’t be cranky in the morning, and I’ll be okay because we won’t talk in the morning,” Keisha says.
Keisha then ends the slideshow by appealing to Jessica’s maternal instincts.
“How can you say no to this face?” she asked, showing a photo of Jessica and Kayden as young children.
“She’s the most precious thing that’s ever happened to me.”
After the video went viral, most viewers had the same question: did the young couple’s wish come true?
“I got this as a gift just before Christmas,” Jessica replied.
“The good news is that she now comes over often and they make a great couple.”
Others said the video was proof that the two were soul mates.
“She is the most precious thing ever,” one person wrote.
“Save this video for the wedding,” said another.
“They’re getting married, I’m sure of it.”
“Keep believing until you have a reason not to believe.”
Others said the video was proof that Jessica and her husband were doing the right thing.
“She feels so relaxed around you and it’s immediately obvious,” one person wrote.
“That’s really appreciated.”
“Thank you for making sure she felt comfortable doing this.”
“I think the fact that they contacted you rather than sneakily says a lot,” another person wrote.
“Of course I allow them, but with limits. I trust them until they give me a reason not to trust them.”
