Tragic Death of “Latina Marilyn Monroe” in Malibu Mansion
Cindiana Santangelo, 58, known as the “Latina Marilyn Monroe,” died while seeking beauty in her luxurious $4 million Malibu home.
On March 24, 2025, she tragically bled on a massage table after an unlicensed procedure involving a dangerous silicone injection. This was especially alarming as the injector had a previous fatal incident tied to the same method.
“It was heartbreaking,” her husband, Frank Santangelo, confided about the loss of his wife of 24 years.
The actress and mother of two had been undergoing hormone therapy, which left her dissatisfied with her appearance, prompting her excitement about a $3,500 butt lift injection.
“She wanted every part of herself to be beautiful,” her husband recalled, highlighting her strong desire for aesthetic improvement.
Cindiana spent time in her “beauty salon,” a space adorned with a pink massage table and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia, where she often found comfort.
At around 3:30 p.m., Libby Adam, a heavily tattooed woman, arrived after a recommendation from a Botox stylist. Intrigued by Adam’s tattoos, Cindiana snapped some photos, reflecting her fascination.
By 4 p.m., Adam, known as “The Butt Lady,” began the injection process. Just a few minutes later, she requested watermelon juice from downstairs. Concerned, Frank Santangelo rushed up to discover his wife bleeding and struggling to breathe.
“She was acting strange,” he said, recalling the panic. He immediately called for help, but Adam misled him about having something to assist and fled the scene with Cindiana’s phone.
Cindiana later described feeling intense chest pain and fearing it was a heart attack. When emergency responders arrived, they performed various actions to try to stabilize her. Sadly, despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The cause of death was determined to be an embolism from the silicone injection.
“When I saw her, she was already dead. It tore me to shreds,” Frank recounted, clearly still grappling with the grief.
An investigation led to Adam’s arrest, revealing her history of performing the same dangerous procedure that previously resulted in a fatality. She had been on probation for a 2019 incident involving another woman’s death.
Ultimately, Adam was found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with Cindiana’s death and received a sentence of 14 years to life.
Throughout this ordeal, Santangelo’s attorney noted that a civil lawsuit against Adam is in progress. Santangelo emphasized the importance of verifying the credentials of anyone performing cosmetic procedures, stressing, “Do not allow anyone other than a medical professional to give you injections. This is the most dangerous cosmetic procedure.”
Those close to Cindiana reflected on her vibrant personality, with her friends expressing how deeply her absence is felt.
