Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett Frustrated After Record-Setting Game
Despite achieving a personal milestone by recording five sacks in a game, Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns wasn’t in high spirits following their 32-13 defeat to the New England Patriots on Sunday.
In a moment of clear frustration, Garrett was spotted slamming his helmet on the sideline as the game wound down.
Garrett’s five sacks brought his career total to 112. With his second sack against Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, he established a new record for pass rushers under 30 years, surpassing Reggie White with 108.5 sacks.
This year hasn’t been easy for Garrett. Earlier in the season, he had requested a trade in response to the Browns’ disappointing performance in 2024.
“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, my main focus was to win a Super Bowl. That’s still what drives me,” he expressed in a statement. “Leaving this community, especially with the amazing fans, was a tough choice. These eight years here have really shaped who I am.”
Garrett highlighted his love for Ohio but emphasized the urgency to compete at the highest level. “I’ve always aimed for the Super Bowl, not just recognition,” he stated. “That’s why I asked for a trade.”
About a month later, he signed a hefty four-year contract extension with the Browns, reportedly worth around $123 million. His agent noted that Garrett had experienced a “change of heart,” deciding to chase a title rather than switch teams.
Still, after yet another loss this season, it’s evident that his confidence might have taken a hit.
