Congresswoman Nancy Mace Dismisses Retirement Rumors
Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace from South Carolina, who is in the race for governor, has firmly rejected suggestions that she might retire from Congress early. “Retirement is a big no-no for me. I really don’t understand why this idea is spreading so fast online—maybe it’s just for clicks,” Mace commented.
Reportedly, she expressed dissatisfaction with Speaker Mike Johnson and the management of the House, especially regarding treatment of women. She mentioned plans to discuss her concerns with Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, hinting at possible changes to her approach in the House.
Recently, several members of Mace’s gubernatorial campaign team resigned, citing misconduct related to support for President Trump. Greene announced earlier that she would be stepping down next year, but Mace made it clear she has no intention of following suit.
In the broader context of Congress, Mace shared her frustration over how challenges are addressed, particularly emphasizing that the only effective way to advance matters in the House seems to be through discharge petitions.
Additionally, Mace took action by signing a petition aimed at banning stock trading among Congress members, calling it a matter of ethical and moral responsibility. “It’s just common sense for Congress members not to profit from insider trading,” she stated.
