Nancy Mace Says Bill Keeps the Border Wide Open

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) said Monday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” that the bipartisan border agreement “keeps our border wide open.”

Earlier, U.S. Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) said on Fox News, “We, the Republican Party, need to hold a press conference and complain about bad borders after December, the worst month in American history.” “But are we intentionally going to keep our borders open?” Now we have to decide if we’re just going to complain about things or if we’re going to deal with it and change as many things as possible. ”

Anchor Martha McCallum said, “What the American people were being told was that funding for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan was not going to happen unless we did something at the border first. Negotiators are getting together and working on a bill that will at least begin to chip away at some of the problems that exist at the border. They came up with something, and now Republicans, including yourself. A lot of them are shutting it down. What do you say to the American people about that?”

“Senator Lankford’s bill leaves the border wide open, and I think Sen. Lankford’s comments are very cynical,” Mace said. There are so many loopholes in this bill that it makes my head spin. Republicans who support it support open borders. This would give Mayorkas complete discretion over who exceeds the 5,000 limit. It lowers the standards for people seeking asylum. You see, Americans are tired of becoming ATM machines for illegal aliens who cross our border every day. The more I read the language of this bill, the more frustrated I become. It’s not what we’re sold to. ”
