Pelosi Calls for Release of Epstein Files, Questions Biden’s Inaction

Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat from California, recently stated that former President Donald Trump should make the Epstein Files public. Interestingly, she didn’t address why President Joe Biden didn’t do the same during his four years in office.

Democrats have taken a strong stance on this topic since it first became a point of contention during Trump’s presidency. Even so, amid ongoing calls for transparency, the Biden Justice Department has not released any additional documents related to Epstein.

In response to a question from Fox News Digital about whether the Trump administration should release the Epstein file, Pelosi affirmed, “Absolutely.” However, when asked why Biden hadn’t done so for four years, she simply walked away.

Meanwhile, Trump has apparently directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to focus on the transcripts related to Epstein’s case, indicating that preparations are underway.

Fox News Digital continued to inquire, asking if Pelosi was aware of the reasons behind the inaction. She ignored these questions and got into her car.

Having served as Speaker of the House from 2019 to 2023, Pelosi held significant political influence. Other Democrats seem to falter when pressed for explanations regarding Biden’s lack of action on this matter, even as they urge for current progress.

For example, Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland struggled to answer when challenged by Joe Scarborough on “Morning Joe.” Scarborough pointed out that the House had controlled the Department of Justice from 2021 to 2025, questioning why it became a crisis now but wasn’t previously. Raskin responded, “I need to look closely at the specific decisions and cases; I’m not sure we can reconstruct that record right now.”

Polling suggests that the party is experiencing severe challenges, with approval ratings plummeting.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal from Washington encountered a similar challenge when CNN anchors pressed her on Biden’s lack of transparency regarding Epstein. Despite her criticisms of the Trump administration, she responded, “We were focusing on so many different issues. I would have been happy to support that.” It raises a question about priorities.

Kansas Republican Senator Roger Marshall remarked to Fox News Digital, “I never heard Democrats express a desire for transparency on this issue until now. It’s quite hypocritical.” He suggested that there might be deeper issues at play beyond what is visible.

Shifting focus, R-Tenn. Rep. Scott Desjarlais acknowledged that the complete release of files may not be necessary but emphasized the importance of revealing any incriminating information. “Pam Bondi has made quite the spectacle about her role in this matter; we need a better explanation,” he said, proposing that a bipartisan group should be allowed to review the files.

Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin expressed that Trump would likely want to release whatever he can. However, he raised concerns about the integrity of the documents when Democrats previously held control. “What might have been altered or omitted? I have my concerns, just like anyone else,” he stated, adding that he trusts the Trump administration to handle it properly.
