‘Narcissistic’ Democratic mayor accused by former assistant of putting makeup artist on town’s payroll

exclusive – A Democratic mayor in embattled Illinois is accused of keeping a professional wardrobe stylist on his payroll at taxpayer expense.

Tiffany Henyard is the mayor of Dalton, Illinois, and has been accused of wasting taxpayer money with extravagant spending and abuse of power. In addition to being mayor, Mr. Henyard currently serves as county supervisor for Thorton Township. In these positions, she earns more than the governor, roughly $300,000. Average incomes in Thorton Township and Dalton are $45,000 to $50,000 and $24,000, respectively.

According to a post on Henyard’s Instagram account, before attending a public meeting, Henyard had her hair, makeup and wardrobe done by Style Me Brandon, owned by Brandon K. Momon. He says he is receiving it.

Momon began posting the dozens of looks he created for Henyard around the time he took over. Mr. Henyard also utilized his services last week.

Mr. Henyard placed Mr. Momon on the government payroll as an “administrative assistant,” according to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

According to FOIA documents, Momon was paid $7,650 in six transactions between April 6, 2023 and June 5, 2023.

According to Momon’s website, Momon offers services such as “makeover,” “wardrobe styling,” “image consulting,” and “personal shopping.”

Fox News Digital reached out to Momon and Henyard for comment on the circumstances behind the pay records, but did not immediately receive a response.

Stephanie Wiedemann, a former Thorton Township employee fired by Mr. Henyard who provided a copy of the FOIA document to Fox News Digital, said she was not surprised, calling Mr. Henyard a complete “narcissist.”

Wiedemann made similar claims against the mayor in a lawsuit he filed in January. Wiedemann said she was fired by Henyard just weeks after the mayor took office because Henyard didn’t trust her to keep quiet or go along.

“She didn’t trust me. I wasn’t part of her team. That’s what she said,” Wiedemann said. “It wasn’t a surprise to me that I was let go. It was a surprise to me that she shattered everything else.” [in the Township]”The community is suffering because of it,” she said.

Wiedemann also accused Henyard of dispatching police to make a “false arrest” in retaliation for the mayor’s recall, the complaint states.

“She uses the police to harass and torture residents. I know this firsthand. I have been arrested by them. I have been removed from meetings. “If you’re not living it, you can’t believe this is happening,” she said. she said.

Lawrence Gardner, a Dalton-based U-Haul rental trucking business owner, was one of six people who spoke to the FBI about Henyard’s conduct, according to the report.

Gardner told FOX 32 he went to the FBI because he was frustrated by the raid on his business by Dalton police. Gardner said he believes this is retaliation for Henyard’s refusal to donate to a civic event it hosts.

“I talked to a few people [FBI] “I gave them all the documents to show them what’s going on in court and what’s going on in Dalton,” Gardner told FOX 32. And they said they were investigating and would contact me. ”
