Nate Bargatze Encourages Families to Attend His Shows

Comedian Nate Bargatze is sending a clear message to parents: skip the babysitter and bring the whole family to his shows. Over the past few years, he has climbed the ranks to become one of the leading comedians in the United States. Maybe it’s his unique sense of humor that has contributed to his rise.

Bargatze, who has hosted Saturday Night Live twice and released three Netflix specials, also saw tremendous ticket sales—roughly 1 million in just the last year. He even authored a book titled Big Stupid Eye: A Simpler Heart Stories.

In a comedy landscape often dominated by edgy content, Bargatze’s family-friendly humor is winning over parents as they share laughs with their children.

He will be hosting the Primetime Emmy Awards on CBS this Sunday. Interestingly, his daughter, Harper, often plays a role in introducing him during performances.

“When they come to my show, I love those people; I don’t want to betray that trust,” he said, as reported in an interview with CBS News. “You can have your kids watch my stand-up. I don’t mind, but I don’t like it when they do—if you see them watching, you might think, ‘Oops, what’s going on?'”

When asked if he feels comedy is a calling, Bargatze didn’t hesitate to agree. “Yeah, I feel it exceeds me,” he said, reflecting a deep connection to his craft.

Rooted in a small town in Tennessee, Bargatze hasn’t forgotten his origins. He recently made a $1 million donation to Donelson Christian Academy, which now features a gymnasium named after him where school teams play.

Looking ahead, Bargatze has further ambitions in the pipeline, including a film titled Earn Money, set to be released next spring, starring both himself and Mandy Moore.

His company, Nateland, follows a “Good Clean Funny” motto, focusing on creating specials, live events, and podcasts that highlight fellow clean comedians.

Ultimately, he dreams of opening a theme park in Nashville. “I won’t be going to every city in America for the rest of my life, so I want to create a space where families can enjoy—where you can bring your wife and kids, especially if they’re around 11 years old,” he explained.

Bargatze acknowledges that his touring days are numbered. “I’m doing this tour, and then there’s another one. I need to shift to films and build that world,” he noted. “I can see myself active in comedy for another 15 years.”

Recently, Bargatze debuted his fifth Netflix special, and he’s set to host the 77th Emmy Awards on September 14th, while also exploring opportunities in film.
